This is a call for proposals for expenditure from the South Central Neighbourhood Partnership’s capital roads fund of £100,000.
Here is the document that the community council submitted in response to the consultation regarding the proposed creation of a new Controled Parking Zone (CPZ).

Dear Resident
GRANGE/PRESTONFIELD COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Grange/Prestonfield Community Council was formed in September 2007 and is one of 41 Community Councils operating in Edinburgh. Community Councils have an important role to play in representing the views of the community to the Council and other organisations.
As you may be aware there has been some confusion about whether Lady Road is included in the Grange/Prestonfield Community Council boundary. Community Council boundaries do not always correspond with ward boundaries. However in the case of Lady Road, it makes sense and was the intention, that the boundaries should be the same. Unfortunately a map with a low resolution background was used at the time of establishing Grange/Prestonfield Community Council which made the boundary line difficult to decipher. I am very sorry that this has resulted in the residents of Lady Road not being included in the new Community Council area.
I have considered the best way forward, given that Grange/Prestonfield is a relatively new Community Council which is just settling into its role, and the fact that Community Council elections are due to take place across the city in October 2009 using a new National and Edinburgh Scheme; the current Scheme is being revised at the moment.
A new map will be produced and this will ensure that the ward and Community Council boundaries are coterminous for the Community Council elections scheduled for October 2009.
Meanwhile, there are still places available for nominated members on Grange/Prestonfield Community Council. It is open to the Lady Road Residents Association to decide if they want to nominate a representative who could then sit on the Community Council to represent their interests.
The Community Council is aware of the situation and is more than happy for residents of Lady Road to continue to attend their meetings. To emphasise this, the Community Council has hand delivered both their newsletter and a welcoming note for Lady Road residents to all the houses in Lady Road.
Finally, steps have been taken to ensure that higher quality more accurate maps are used to identify Community Council boundaries from now on. The boundaries will be checked by Council staff and again by the Electoral Registration Officer who acts as our agent for Community Council elections. I hope this is helpful to you.
Yours sincerely
