② Look for possible Zone S8 Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) at the 2 June TRO Sub-Committee.

The TRO Sub-Committee Agenda will be published on 26 May.

From the Clerk to the TRO Sub-Committee, to KR, on 25 March:

Representations from the public can be submitted during the advertisement period of the TRO, but as committee consideration is a quasi-judicial process, groups are not permitted to present to the committee meeting.

I have copied the Traffic Orders Team who can hopefully confirm whether and when this scheme is due to be presented to the committee and how representations can be made. Information is also available on the Council website.

③ From Cllr Tim Pogson, to KR, on 25 March 2026

Hi Ken, at last week’s Community Council, I was asked about specific contributions to roads and footways from the Visitor Levy funding. The response I have received is below. Let me know if I can provide any further information.

There is funding available specifically for footpaths (not roads as visitor connection is limited) - this first cycle of funding has focussed specifically on visitor heavy areas and mostly in the city centre, with a plan to move towards non-city centre footpaths in the next cycle. Alongside this there is some funding agreed for upgrades of town centres around the city. Again, the idea is to be able to fund similar activity in other town centres in the next round of investment so even if it's not happening in the first three years, there is a desire to continue investing VL income in the town centres in future cycles.

④ Trams Trains for Edinburgh Public Meeting, Nucleus Building, King’s Buildings at 7.30pm. Register here: Tram Trains for Edinburgh Event 23 April 2026

⑤ Background: T&E Committee, 2 April 2026: Council report with proposal to improve all transport related project information and communications; Improve Council website information; Plan to improve TRO process, making relevant information accessible and easier to understand. Report approved.
