31 Oct: A message from the Council's Corporate Director of Place to Community Councils:

Significant preparations have been underway for the possibility of public disorder in the days leading up to and during the events surrounding Halloween and Bonfire Night. This includes support from our partners, Police Scotland, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, Lothian Association of Youth Clubs, Scottish Fire and Rescue and Lothian Buses.

I have attached a copy of the presentation from Police Scotland that was recently shared at the Elected Member & Parliamentarian online briefing. View it here:

I have also included some links below that may also be of interest:

Please report any issues i.e. unauthorised fireworks sellers, or unauthorised bonfires/ firework displays via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Police Scotland on 101. Further information on the Firework control zones is available on our website Residents can also contact their locality office team if they have concerns/ problems such as bonfires.

I hope this is helpful.  If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
