Notes:
① Cllr. Flannery queries CEC Planning on the lack of clarity / scope for confusion across the descriptions of the Planning Application, the adjacent summary Planning Decision and the detail carried in the Decision Notice. Secretary adds separate GPCC comment to Planning.
② Traffic Regulation Order Sub Committee (TRO SC), 12 May. TRO/24/34 approved, with double-yellow restrictions to follow. Resident pushback. FOI request tabled. GPCC and Local Councillors invited to issue a public statement in support of rescinding the TRO. Local Councillors note the TRO is now legally in place. GPCC letter sent to Local Councillors raising queries about some procedural aspects of the TRO SC procedure at the 12 May meeting.
③ An informal Reid Memorial working group is speaking to Development Trusts Association Scotland about the future of the church following its sale. Public meeting at Reid Memorial on 18 June at 18.30. There may be a request for GPCC to offer to bank working group funds as a ‘short-term measure’ (this following an informal approach.) Governance approval would be needed.
④ Reported (Ian Murray MP) that Strathearn Road Post Office Delivery Centre has been purchased by Edinburgh Architects, Reiach & Hall Architects, to house their practice. (The Gillis Centre at Strathearn Road / Whitehouse Loan is another local site coming to the market.)
⑤ City Plan 2040 (CP 2040) Evidence Report tabled with Planning Committee on 3 June and Full Council on 25 June. https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/ieListMeetings.aspx?CId=150&Year=0 The Evidence Report is a major early-stage marker in the build-out of CP 2040.
