Introduction

Your Ward Councillors and the City Council want to hear what you think about a host of issues; They need to hear what you think. Otherwise, your opinions on city life are just background noise. The Council’s Consultation and Engagement Hub is a rolling directory of online surveys.

Below we list a selection of the current survey activities on the Hub.

Take a look and take part. (If you don't take part, you can't be counted and you miss having your say!) Then contact us at mailto:secretary@grangeprestonfieldcc.org.uk to let us know your view on what was asked. (Keep it to a maximum of five lines of text though, please.)

For more information, on public consultation and engagement activities conducted by the Council, please refer to the CEC Consultation Hub

From CEC on 25 August: We have been working on developing a business case to expand the tram network in Edinburgh.

With a west to east route, from the Airport to Newhaven, now successfully running, we are proposing a north to south route.

The route would run from Granton, through the city centre, out to the Edinburgh BioQuarter and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh via Cameron Toll, and potentially beyond into the city region.

Your feedback will help us develop the next stage of the project which is the Strategic Business Case for a new tram line.

While we have provided all the key information to help you complete this consultation, you can find more information and detail on the project webpages on the Council's website.

Read the supporting reports that have informed the consultation for the Strategic Business Case stage. This includes information on the process and timeline, work that has been completed to date, technical reports and frequently asked questions.

This would be a major development in the city’s public transport network and we want to make sure that you have the opportunity to have your say.

Every year we ask tenants for their views on the rent they pay. In February 2024, Councillors agreed to increase rent by 7% every year, for five years, starting in April 2024. 2026/27 will be the third year of the five-year period. Officers are proposing to continue the approved plan and to increase rent by 7% in 2026/27. Councillors will decide the actual rent increase at the Council’s budget meeting in February 2026.

Edinburgh's Night Time Economy

This survey about Edinburgh’s night-time economy will help the City of Edinburgh Council and its partners understand how people live, work, and spend time in the city between 6pm and 6am. The results will directly inform the work of the new Night-Time Economy Co-ordinator, whose role will be to identify key challenges, opportunities, and practical improvements for making Edinburgh’s night-time offer safer, more inclusive, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When we talk about the night-time economy, we don’t just mean pubs, bars, or clubs — it includes all the activities, services, and people who contribute to city life at night, from hospitality and transport to healthcare, culture, retail, and leisure. The city doesn't sleep.

We have proposals to improve walking, wheeling and cycling along Dundee Street and Fountainbridge, as well as surrounding streets connecting to the Union Canal. The changes will create safer, more attractive streets for everyone. They also support our ambition to provide more options for sustainable travel across the city as part of our City Mobility Plan. The high-quality cycling route and street improvements will provide an alternative to the shared Union Canal path,..

The Coastal Change Adaptation Plan (CCAP)

Climate change is predicted to lead to sea level rise and more intense storms which would threaten the coast through flooding and erosion. The Edinburgh CCAP is a strategic scheme to manage our coast. The council is currently looking to understand what coastal management approaches are most appropriate for different lengths of the Edinburgh coastline based on local knowledge and insight.

This form is an early-stage conversation. We want to hear from you before management decisions are made. For more information on the CCAP process please see Coastal Change Adaptation Plan Guidance by Scottish Government (2023).
